CV Engineering delivered construction engineering for Mississippi Silicon’s manufacturing facility in Burnsville, Mississippi. This greenfield project highlighted our ability to apply heavy industrial expertise to critical materials production outside the steel industry.
Planning
The 100-acre site was designed to produce silicon metal for semiconductors, solar cells, and aluminum alloys. Planning centered on supporting two 24-megawatt submerged arc furnaces and their associated auxiliary systems.
Design & Construction
The multidisciplinary scope covered site work, civil and structural engineering, and mechanical and electrical design. A key technical challenge was the design of integrated platform and building structures, requiring precise coordination between structural and process disciplines.
Results
The completed plant stands as a safe and efficient facility for silicon metal production. This project reinforced CV Engineering’s reputation for delivering multidisciplinary excellence across diverse industrial sectors.
